Prototype of Housing for Chinese Students

A villa in Aachen, where the elite University RWTH Aachen is located, was established on October 1, 2017. It can accommodate 10 Chinese students studying in Aachen. The first prototype of housing for Chinese students has been completed.


Location

The dorm in Aachen is located nearby the Aachen inner ring and is very easily accessible by buses: there are only 5 bus stops between the dorm and the main building and cafeteria of RWTH Aachen, Templergraben 55; it is a 7 minutes bus ride from the dorm to the city’s largest shopping center Adalbertstraße.


Room Types

The dorm in Aachen has an area of ​​461 square meters with large gardens. Each of the first and the second floor is equipped with 4 individual rooms, from ​​11 to 22 square meters. Each floor has a separate kitchen, bathroom and toilet. There are laundry, bicycle room and storage room on the ground floor. Six street-side garages are available for use.




















Facilities and Furniture

The dorm in Aachen is equipped with two brand new Siemens kitchens including dishwashers, ceramic hobs, ovens, cooker hoods and refrigerators; brand new Grohe thermostatic water valves in kitchens and bathrooms; new Siemens washing machine in laundry; each student’s room is equipped with new furniture.

















Eco-Friendly Power Source

The dorm in Aachen has photovoltaics equipment installed on the rooftop to provide electricity.



Academic-year Contract housing

The dormitory in Aachen provides Chinese students with one-year contract. Main Bridge encourages students to find new housing in Aachen after one year. On one hand, housing assignments should preferentially offer housing to freshmen students. On the other hand, current students should try their best to get integrated into Germany.
